Dear Mr. Lundberg:
Denison Mines (USA) Corp. is providing this letter to notify the Utah Division of Radiation Control of the
White Mesa Mill's tailings, slimes drain, and leak detection system sampling as required by the Utah
Groundwater Discharge Pennit (the "GWDP") UGW370004. The sampling event is scheduled for Wednesday
August 24, 2011 and, if necessary, Thursday August 25, 2011.
The Mill staff plan to sample the following locations, consistent with the GWDP and the Tailings Slimes Drain
Sampling Program (the "Sampling Program").
Sampling Area Locations
Tailings System Cells Cell #1, Cell#3, Cell#4A, and Cell# 4B.
Slimes Drains Cell 2 Slimes Drain
Leak Detection Systems ("LDSs") Any cell LDS with sufficient liquid present
As indicated in the Sampling Program, slimes drain samples are only collected from cells which have been
removed from service and are undergoing dewatering procedures. For this sampling event, slimes drain
samples will only be collected from Cell #2. Also as indicated in the Sampling Program, LDS samples are only
collected at locations with sufficient free liquid to permit sampling.
If you have any questions or require further assistance, please contact Mr. Dan Hillsten, Mill Manager; Mr. David
Turk, Radiation Safety Officer; or Ryan Palmer at (435) 678-2221.
Yours very truly,
