Dove Creek's gas prices were
29 cents cheaper than
Monticello's or Blanding's.
Even White Mesa was 15
cents cheaper! Moab and
Cortez had even lower prices.
I was so incensed; I came
close to writing a letter to both
of your major papers at that
time. However, I decided I
already had my own way of
dealing with the problem, and
felt the locals were perfectly
capable of fighting then" own
battles. Now, I'm writing that
letter, anyway.
Greed is such an ugly thing.
Those who are hurt the most
are people on fixed incomes,
widows and widowers...the
poor and the needy. And, in
these depressed times, it's par-
ticularly despicable.
Let it be known that the
locals are not the only ones
who are deeply offended by it.
