Subject: Notice Decreased Monitoring Requirements for Granger-Hunter Improvement District; UTAH18007
Jason Helm: It is the Division of Drinking Water’s (the Division) understanding that the Sanderson Well #1
(WS002), the Acord Well #12 (WS014) and the Well #17 (WS019) meet the conditions presented in R309-205 to be sampled collectively at the Rushton WTP (TP027). Please collect all chemical source samples (PFAS, Inorganics and Metals, Pesticides, VOCs, Radionuclides, Nitrate, and Sodium Sulfate and TDS) from the Rushton WTP (TP027) when all three sources are represented in the sample.
Prior to the construction of the Rushton WTP (TP027) each of these sources pumped into the distribution system individually. However, the water system has since been reconfigured so that each of the wells now must pass through the Rushton WTP (TP027) prior to servicing any connections. R309-205 states that if a system draws water from more than one source and the
sources are combined before distribution, the system shall sample at an entry point to the
distribution system during periods of normal operating conditions (i.e., when water is representative of all sources being used). This change results in a decreased monitoring requirement overall. The updated monitoring
requirements for the Rushton WTP (TP027) are given below. An updated monitoring schedule
can be viewed any time at waterlink.utah.gov under the Water Monitoring section.
