Re: Results of Soil Vapor Sampling

Dear Mr. Vincent:
Two soil vapor sampling points were installed at IML Security Supply on September 13, 2024. Vapor pins®
were emplaced through the concrete slab near existing monitoring wells MW-5 and MW-7 (Figure 1) by RMEC
Environmental, Inc. Certified Soil and Groundwater Sampler and Geologist Danny Burt (GS-1884, Expiration
date 2/16/2025) performed the sampling using industry standard protocols. Leak testing of each temporary
installation was done using water dams. Vapor samples were collected from the subsurface using 1 liter summa
cans equipped with lab supplied flow regulators and Teflon tubing trains. The samples were collected below an
8-10” concrete slab in locations shown in Figure 1. Air purging was performed to remove 4 dead volumes from
tubing or sample train utilizing a 50 ml syringe at a rate of 200 cc per minute. An equilibrium time of
approximately 1 hour was allowed prior to sampling. Beginning and ending summa can vacuums were recorded
during sampling. The vapor samples were analyzed using EPA method TO-15 for MTBE, BTEXN, and TPH
by ALS laboratory. Following vapor sample collection, the vapor pins® were removed and the drill holes patched
using hydraulic cement.
The analytical results of vapor sampling, presented on Table 1, are reported in micrograms-per-cubic meter
(µg/m3). The results are compared with June 2015 Utah DERR RBCA commercial, sub-slab, guidance. Sample
SV-01-West was collected near MW-5 and sample SV-02-East was collected near MW-7. Each vapor sample
contained low BTEX and TPH concentrations below the regulatory guidance referenced.
The laboratory analytical report is attached. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to
contact me.
Respectfully,
Underwood Environmental Consulting, Inc.

Quality Control:EPA TO-15 by IH-AN-014 - (Batch: 321073)
“Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons” is the sum of all peaks in the chromatogram with a 41 ion with the addition of the BTEX
compounds and was quantitated against the 117 ion of the Internal Standard.
Each sample in this work order had a reduced volume in the sample canister and therefore a small dilution was applied to the
final result.
