In accordance with the Utah Department of Environmental Quality provisions, Thatcher
Company, in Salt Lake City, UT 84127, EPA # UTD041307356, a large quantity generator,
requested a temporary emergency license for onsite treatment of one (1) potentially unstable,
hazardous waste container.
After receiving an email / written approval from the State of Utah, the Reactive Materials
Team with Clean Harbors Environmental Services scheduled the project to arrive onsite on
Tuesday, May 21st, 2024.
During the collection of the chemicals, we encountered no additional compounds that
were not outlined in the original inventory. We managed all the vinyl acetate successfully.
The Reactive Materials Team followed the procedures put forth in the submitted work
plan to the State and the material was successfully treated without any incidents or issues.
