Subject:Approval and Renewal of 2024 Water Line Installation Standards per R309-500-7;Santa Clara City, System #27016, File #11366
This Approval expires on December 31, 2029.
Dear Dustin Mouritsen:
The Division of Drinking Water (the Division) received the following documents on October 16, 2024:
The water line installation drawings and specifications for Santa Clara City. These were previously submitted in 2018, and no changes have been made.
The completed application form signed by Dustin Mouritsen and dated October 15, 2024, which formally designates:
Nathan Wallentine, P.E., as the Professional Engineer (PE) having direct responsibility for the design of the entire water system, and
Nathan Wallentine, P.E., as the PE responsible for oversight of the hydraulic analysis of the entire water system.
We completed our review of the water line installation drawings and specifications, and found they basically comply with the applicable portions of Utah's Rules for Public Drinking Water
Systems in R309-550. On this basis, the Santa Clara City water line installation drawings and specificationsare hereby approved.
Santa Clara City has met the criteria in R309-500-7 to install water lines up to 16 inches in diameter and is not required to obtain Plan Approval or an Operating Permit for the qualified
water line projects.
Please note the following restrictions to this approval:
1. This approval does not apply to booster pump stations.
2. If minimum separation between water and sewer lines cannot meet the requirements in R309-550-8, an exception must be obtained prior to water line construction.This Approval expires
on December 31, 2029. You must notify the Division if there is a change to standard installation drawings and specifications or the designated PE for design or hydraulic analysis during
the term of this Approval. To continue using standard installation drawings and specifications for water transmission and distribution lines after the expiration date, you must submit
a complete renewal application to the Division.Please maintain a copy of this letter with your permanent records for future reference.
