HomeMy WebLinkAboutDERR-2024-011694 MEMORANDUM TO: LPST File THROUGH: Morgan Atkinson, PST Branch Manager Division of Environmental Response and Remediation Mike Pecorelli, EAP Section Manager Division of Environmental Response and Remediation Scott Everett, Toxicologist Division of Environmental Response and Remediation FROM: Alex Thompson, EAP Project Manager Division of Environmental Response and Remediation DATE: October 8, 2024 SUBJECT: LUST NFA - Closure Review Memo Speedway #9411, located at 12592 South 1300 West, Riverton, Utah, 84065 Facility Identification No. 4001842, Release Site OKZ On October 8, 2024 the Division of Environmental Response and Remediation received a closure notice for three underground storage tanks located at the #9411 Speedway. During excavation activities soil under two of the dispensers indicated potential petroleum contamination. A soil excavation was conducted and 53.68 tons of contaminated soils were removed. No groundwater was encountered. Samples were taken after the excavation to serve as confirmation samples. These and all samples indicated petroleum contamination was under initial screening levels. While minimal levels of contamination remain at the site, it is neither economically appropriate nor technologically feasible to remediate said contamination any further. The NFA package with supporting documents can be found here: Please initial this memo when your closure package review is complete. If you have questions, comments or concerns with the closure, please discuss with the project manager or request a closure committee discussion. Once this memo is complete, the NFA letter will be initiated through Adobe Sign for final signatures. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/136MgBlGkB9_Ri1vt9r0rqcXGBJ9U5aJC ' : MP
