Therefore, a junction or collection box requires a vent to be fitted with #14 mesh or finer non-corrodible screen, be fitted with a protective heavy-gauge screen or covering if 6 inches in diameter or greater, be down-turned and shielded to prevent the entrance of contaminants, be located and sized to avoid blockage during winter, and have the end of the vent discharge a minimum of 24 inches above the earth on buried structures.
