Subject:Operating Permit, Randall 2 MG Reservoir (ST009);
North Ogden City, System #29010, File #13265
Dear David Espinoza:The Division of Drinking Water (the Division) received a request for an Operating Permit for the Randal 2 MG Reservoir from your consultant, Steve Hansen, P.E., with
Sunrise Engineering on September 20, 2024. The Division received as-built plans for the project on October 2, 2024. The Division issued Plan Approval for this project on March 20, 2023.
Our understanding is the project included demolishing the existing 500,000-gallon Randall Storage tank (ST006) and constructing a new 2,000,000-gallon storage tank in the same location.
The new Randall 2 MG Reservoir is a buried concrete tank. The tank overflow discharges with an 18-inch air gap into a storm drain box located near the tank and the tank can be drained
via a downstream hydrant. The overflow elevation of the new tank matches that of the old Randall Storage Tank. The Randall 2 MG Reservoir is identified as ST009 in the Division’s database.
We have received the following information for Randall 2 MG Reservoir:
Certification of Rule Conformance with plan approval conditions by a professional engineer.
As-built drawings.
Satisfactory bacteriological results as evidence of proper disinfection and flushing.
Evidence of O&M manual delivery.
We have determined that all conditions for operating permit issuance have been met. On this basis, an Operating Permit for the Randall 2 MG Reservoiris hereby issued as constituted by
this letter. You may now place the Randall 2 MG Reservoir in service in your water system.
Please maintain a copy of this letter with your permanent records for future reference.
If you have any questions regarding this Operating Permit, please contact Hunter Payne, of this office, at (385)278-9837, or Michael Newberry, P.E., Permitting and Engineering Manager,
at (385) 515-1464.
Sincerely,
