HomeMy WebLinkAboutDERR-2024-007716 NRD Trustee – Comment Response Summary – Response to Common Comment No. 3 3-1 SOUTHWEST JORDAN VALLEY GROUNDWATER CLEANUP PROJECT STATE OF UTAH NATURAL RESOURCE DAMAGE TRUSTEE COMMENT RESPONSE SUMMARY AUGUST 31, 2004 Response to Common Comment No. 3 – Support for Groundwater Cleanup A number of commenters expressed support for the proposed aquifer cleanup and containment of the contaminant plumes. The Trustee appreciates the support local officials and the general public have provided for the containment and removal of the contaminated groundwater in the Southwest Jordan Valley. The objective is to implement a plan that will restore, replace, or acquire the equivalent of the damaged groundwater resources for the benefit of the public in the Affected Area. See Sections V.D.1 and V.D.4 of the Consent Decree. The Consent Decree also supports the overall cleanup objective of containment and reduction of the contaminants in the aquifer over the 40-year period. The Joint Proposal is designed to accomplish these objectives.
