I would like to thank you for taking the time to meet with me on June 4th, 2024, for a Level 2
Assessment (L2) of your water system. Your willingness to accommodate this request is greatly appreciated. Observations:

This site visit was triggered by TC+ EC+ Escherichia coli (E. coli) sample from a fire hydrant where an animal carcass was discovered after entering their distribution system through a newly constructed water main. This was discovered when two homes complained that their water was shut off and it was found that animal parts were blocking the service lines at the connection.
Conclusions: 1. TC + EC + sample was likely caused by the animal carcass.
Recommendations: 1. Adopted American Water Works Association (AWWA) standard C651 for new water line installation and require contractors to follow all commissioning procedures.

2. It is highly recommended adopting APWA Standards and Specs for your system.

3. Follow sanitary sampling protocol for sufficient flushing and disinfection, use a strong chlorine-based solution ensuring contact time, flushing, and sample collection.
