The Division issued Plan Approval for modifying the surface seal and an After the Fact drilling on April 12, 2022. The submission was not complete as it lacked a copy of the 24-hour constant rate test results and the proposed pump sizing information. This remaining information was received by the Division on August 29, 2024. Plan review comments were sent to you and your consultant on September 24, 2024. Final plans were received by the Division on September 26, 2024. Our understanding of the project is to equip the Vandenberghe Well (WS002) with a 230 gallons per minute (gpm), 550 feet of total dynamic head, 60 horsepower submersible pump. The anticipated pump will be a Grundfos 230 S 500-15 pump. The constant rate pump test was conducted at 1,030 gpm. The project also includes a new well house in a modified container and a conveyance pipe to connect to the existing distribution system with about 150 linear feet of 6-inch diameter PVC C900 pipe. We have received the following information for Vandenberghe Well (WS002) equipping and well house project: Certification of well seal. Well driller’s report (well log). Aquifer drawdown test results (step drawdown test and constant-rate test). New Source Chemical Analysis of the well water. Plans and specifications for equipping the well. Pump information. Wellhead discharge piping. Well house design. We have completed our review of the plans and specifications, stamped, and signed by Curtis L. Nielson, P. E., and dated August 29, 2024, and found they basically comply with the applicable portions of Utah’s Administrative Rules for Public Drinking Water Systems in R309. On this basis, the plans for equipping the Vandenberghe Well (WS002) and construction of a well house and conveyance pipeline to the existing water system are hereby approved. This approval pertains to construction only. An Operating Permit must be obtained from the Director before the Vandenberghe Well (WS002) may be put into service. A checklist outlining the well approval process, including the items required for issuing an operating permit for this well is enclosed for your information.Approvals or permits from the local authority or county may be necessary before beginning construction of this project. As the project proceeds, notice of any changes in the approved design, as well as any change affecting the quantity or quality of the delivered water, must be submitted to the Division. We may also conduct interim and final inspections of this project. Please notify us when actual construction begins so that these inspections can be scheduled. This approval must be renewed if construction has not begun or if substantial equipment has not been ordered within one year of the date of this letter.
