Director September 17, 2024 John Cazier Diamond Valley Acres Water Company 1618 West Diamond Valley Drive St George, Utah 84770 Dear Mr. Cazier, Subject: RTCR Level 2 Assessment Diamond Valley Acres Water Co UTAH27065 I would like to thank you for taking the time to meet with me on June 12th, and August 29th, 2024, for Level 2 Assessments (L2) of your water system. Your willingness to accommodate this request is greatly appreciated. Observations: These site visits were triggered by multiple TC+ EC+ Escherichia Coli (E. Coli) samples at different locations throughout your distribution system. Conclusions: 1. TC + EC + samples could be caused by stagnant water/old water age in both your storage tanks and your aging distribution system. Storage tanks are above ground steel tanks with dark exterior paint, this can also contribute to elevated water temperature compounding the stagnant process. 2. Another potential cause could be poor water quality and/or a bacteria growth problem from your well sources. Insufficient source sample data to either confirm or eliminate wells as the problem currently. 3. Based on the history of TC+EC+ samples, Division of Drinking Water (DDW) Vulnerable Source Assessment team (VSA) has determined Diamond Valley Acres Water System will be required to disinfect their water system. (An official letter/order to follow) John Cazier Page 2 September 17, 2024 Recommendations: 1. Follow the VSA Ground Water Required to Disinfect (GWRTD) order in installing disinfection.
