On March 29, 2024, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (the Division) received a renewal applicationincluding a proposed draft permitfor the Post-Closure Permit from
AECOM, consultant to Pennzoil – Quaker State Company DBA SOPUS Products (SOPUS). The Permit was originally issued to SOPUS and Roosevelt Land Investment as co-permittees with an effective
date of September 30, 2014, and will expire on September 30, 2024.
The proposed draft permit is currently under review of Division staff and Utah Attorney General’s Office before the Division conducts a 45-day public comment period required by Utah
Administrative Code (Utah Admin. Code) R315-124-10 and -11. Please be advised that, in accordance with permit Condition I.F.4., the 2014 Post-Closure Permit will remain in effect beyond
the permit’s expiration date,provided that the Permittees have submitted a timely, complete application, in accordance with Utah Administrative Code R315270-10 through 41, and through
no fault of the Permittees, the Director has not issued a new permit as set forth in Utah Admin. Code R315270-50 and 51.
