Conducted post-well installation groundwater monitoring activities on July 8 through 10, 2024. 2. Prepared the July 2024 Groundwater Monitoring Report. WORK PROPOSED NEXT: . 1. Prepare Additional Subsurface Investigation and Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan (Work Plan). Current Phase of Project: Site Assessment Frequency of Monitoring / Sampling: Quarterly (On hold pending site delineation) Are Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (LNAPL) Present On-site: Yes Cumulative LNAPL Recovered to Date: 33.0 (gallons) Approximate Depth to Groundwater: 4.61 (MW-6) to 9.09 (MW-12) (feet below top of casing) Approximate Groundwater Elevation: 4226.28 (MW-12) to 4227.66 (MW-4) (feet relative to corresponding datum) Groundwater Flow Direction Northwest Groundwater Gradient 0.0035 (feet per foot) Current Remediation Techniques: None September 20, 2024 377352 July 2024 GWMR Page: 2/5 Permits for Discharge: None Summary of Unusual Activity: MW-11 and MW-14 had measurable LNAPL, which was not observed in the previous groundwater monitoring event (November 2023). Agency Directive Requirements: None DISCUSSION Groundwater sampling activities were conducted at the Former Chevron Site No. 377352 located at 1917 West 1700 South, Salt Lake City, Utah (Figure 1) on July 8-10, 2024. Fourteen (14) monitoring wells, MW-1 through MW-14 (Figure 2) were gauged, and seven (7) monitoring wells were sampled. Depth to groundwater measurements were collected on July 8, 2024, and ranged from 4.61 feet below top of casing (btoc) (MW-6) to 9.09 btoc (MW-12), with groundwater elevations ranging from 4226.28 (MW-12) to 4227.66 (MW-4). The 2021 groundwater sampling event interpreted a northwest flow with a gradient of 0.0035 feet per foot. Note that the groundwater elevation at wells with observed free product (i.e., light non-aqueous phase liquid [LNAPL]), MW-1, MW-2, MW-9, MW-10, MW-11, MW-12 and MW-14 is calculated assuming a specific gravity of 0.75. LNAPL was observed in monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-9, MW-10, MW-11, MW-12 and MW-14. Observed LNAPL thickness ranged from 0.07 feet at MW-9 to 2.47 feet at MW-12. A total of approximately 16.5 gallons of LNAPL was removed via bailing in seven of the site monitoring wells including MW-1 (2 gal. removed), MW-2 (1 gal. removed), MW-9 (1 gal. removed), MW-10 (5 gal. removed), MW-11 (1 gal. removed), MW-12 (5 gal. removed), and MW-14 (1.5 gal. removed). LNAPL gauging data is summarized on Table 1. Following gauging activities, the remaining seven monitoring wells (without observed LNAPL) were purged and sampled using low-flow sampling methods until water levels and field parameters (pH, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, oxidation-reduction potential, and temperature) stabilized. Flow rates were targeted to be 100 to 500 milliliters (mL) per minute using a peristaltic pump. Groundwater purging and sampling was conducted by a Utah-Certified soil and groundwater sampler. Field parameters were recorded in the field notes, and copies are included in Appendix A Groundwater samples were collected using laboratory-provided containers. Groundwater samples were labeled, placed in sealed Ziploc® bags, immediately placed on ice in a chilled cooler, and transported to Pace Analytical National (Pace) located in Mount Juliet, TN (NELAP-certified) under chain-of-custody procedures. The samples were analyzed for the following constituents: September 20, 2024 377352 July 2024 GWMR Page: 3/5  Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons – gasoline range organics (TPH-GRO) by United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Method 8015D;  Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons – diesel range organics (TPH-DRO) and TPH-DRO with silica gel cleanup (SGC) by USEPA Method 8015/3511;  Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) naphthalene, EDB, EDC, and Methyl Tertiary Buty Ether (MTBE) by USEPA Method 8260B; and  Oil and grease by USEPA Method 1664A.  Total Organic Carbon by USEPA method 9060 Current gauging data and groundwater analytical results are summarized in Table 1 and presented on Figure 4. Historical gauging and analytical data for the site are summarized in Table 2. The groundwater elevation contours for the July 8, 2024, groundwater monitoring event are presented on Figure 3. The groundwater analytical report and chain-of-custody documentation is provided in Appendix B. Analytical results for the July 2024 groundwater monitoring event are summarized below and are compared to the Division of Environmental Response and Remediation (DERR) Initial Screening Levels (ISLs) and Risk-based Corrective Action Tier 1 Screening Levels (RBCA Tier 1 SLs) for groundwater. The groundwater samples collected during the sampling event contained detectable concentrations of TPH- GRO and TPH-DRO just above their respective ISL’s. The highest detected constituent concentrations were observed in monitoring wells MW-4, MW-5, and MW-8 located in the central portion of the site near the identified source areas. TPH-ORO, BTEX, and naphthalene, were detected at concentrations below the ISL’s and in some cases are estimated values between the laboratory Method Detection Limit (MDL) and Reported Detection Limit (RDL). Oil and grease, MTBE, EDB, and EDC were not detected, and the RDL values were below the respective ISLs. Detected concentrations above regulatory screening levels are summarized in Table 1 and presented on Figure 4. The following constituents were detected at concentrations exceeding the ISLs:  TPH-GRO was detected at concentrations just above the ISL of 1.0 milligrams per liter (mg/L) in groundwater samples collected from MW-4 (1.75 mg/L [DUP 1.89 mg/L]) and MW-5 (1.07 mg/L).  TPH-DRO was detected at concentrations above the ISL of 1.0 mg/L in the groundwater sample collected from MW-8 (1.17 mg/L); however, was not detected above the ISL when ran with the SGC indicating polar compounds and/or other carbon sources are contributing to the TPH-DRO result. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS Constituent concentrations of TPH-GRO and TPH-DRO in groundwater appear to be decreasing or consistent with historical concentrations. LNAPL was observed in monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-9, MW-10, and MW-12 during the July 2024 event, which is consistent with the last groundwater event September 20, 2024 377352 July 2024 GWMR Page: 4/5 conducted in November 2023. In addition, two additional wells (MW-11 and MW-14) have measurable LNAPL present. As such, the extent of contamination has not been defined to the west of MW-10 or to the north of MW-14. Continued groundwater monitoring is not recommended until delineation is obtained. Based on previous sampling of the wells containing LNAPL, dissolved phase concentrations were either not detected, or not detected above ISLs and/or Tier 1 SLs, indicating the presence of LNAPL is the main driver for delineation. A work plan summarizing planned additional delineation efforts will be prepared and submitted in September 2024. References Arcadis. 2024. This is not intended as a comprehensive explanation, and if you have additional questions please contact your project representative. Results Disclaimer - Information that may be provided by the customer, and contained within this report, include Permit Limits, Project Name, Sample ID, Sample Matrix, Sample Preservation, Field Blanks, Field Spikes, Field Duplicates, On-Site Data, Sampling Collection Dates/Times, and Sampling Location. Results relate to the accuracy of this information provided, and as the samples are received. Abbreviations and Definitions MDL Method Detection Limit. RDL Reported Detection Limit. Rec.Recovery. RPD Relative Percent Difference. SDG Sample Delivery Group. (S) Surrogate (Surrogate Standard) - Analytes added to every blank, sample, Laboratory Control Sample/Duplicate and Matrix Spike/Duplicate; used to evaluate analytical efficiency by measuring recovery. Surrogates are not expected to be detected in all environmental media. U Not detected at the Reporting Limit (or MDL where applicable). Analyte The name of the particular compound or analysis performed. Some Analyses and Methods will have multiple analytes reported. Dilution If the sample matrix contains an interfering material, the sample preparation volume or weight values differ from the standard, or if concentrations of analytes in the sample are higher than the highest limit of concentration that the laboratory can accurately report, the sample may be diluted for analysis. If a value different than 1 is used in this field, the result reported has already been corrected for this factor. Limits These are the target % recovery ranges or % difference value that the laboratory has historically determined as normal for the method and analyte being reported. Successful QC Sample analysis will target all analytes recovered or duplicated within these ranges. Original Sample The non-spiked sample in the prep batch used to determine the Relative Percent Difference (RPD) from a quality control sample. The Original Sample may not be included within the reported SDG. Qualifier This column provides a letter and/or number designation that corresponds to additional information concerning the result reported. If a Qualifier is present, a definition per Qualifier is provided within the Glossary and Definitions page and potentially a discussion of possible implications of the Qualifier in the Case Narrative if applicable. Result The actual analytical final result (corrected for any sample specific characteristics) reported for your sample. If there was no measurable result returned for a specific analyte, the result in this column may state “ND” (Not Detected) or “BDL” (Below Detectable Levels). The information in the results column should always be accompanied by either an MDL (Method Detection Limit) or RDL (Reporting Detection Limit) that defines the lowest value that the laboratory could detect or report for this analyte. Uncertainty (Radiochemistry)Confidence level of 2 sigma. Case Narrative (Cn) A brief discussion about the included sample results, including a discussion of any non-conformances to protocol observed either at sample receipt by the laboratory from the field or during the analytical process. If present, there will be a section in the Case Narrative to discuss the meaning of any data qualifiers used in the report. Quality Control Summary (Qc) This section of the report includes the results of the laboratory quality control analyses required by procedure or analytical methods to assist in evaluating the validity of the results reported for your samples. These analyses are not being performed on your samples typically, but on laboratory generated material. Sample Chain of Custody (Sc) This is the document created in the field when your samples were initially collected. This is used to verify the time and date of collection, the person collecting the samples, and the analyses that the laboratory is requested to perform. This chain of custody also documents all persons (excluding commercial shippers) that have had control or possession of the samples from the time of collection until delivery to the laboratory for analysis. Sample Results (Sr) This section of your report will provide the results of all testing performed on your samples. These results are provided by sample ID and are separated by the analyses performed on each sample. The header line of each analysis section for each sample will provide the name and method number for the analysis reported. Sample Summary (Ss)This section of the Analytical Report defines the specific analyses performed for each sample ID, including the dates and times of preparation and/or analysis. Qualifier Description B The same analyte is found in the associated blank. J The identification of the analyte is acceptable; the reported value is an estimate. 1 Cp 2 Tc 3 Ss 4 Cn 5 Sr 6 Qc 7 Gl 8 Al 9 Sc ACCOUNT:PROJECT:SDG:DATE/TIME:PAGE: Arcadis - Chevron - UT 30064298 07.21 L1756101 07/23/24 11:49 16 of 19 ACCOUNT:PROJECT:SDG:DATE/TIME:PAGE: Arcadis - Chevron - UT 30064298 07.21 L1756101 07/23/24 13:42 16 of 19 Pace Analytical National 12065 Lebanon Rd Mount Juliet, TN 37122 Alabama 40660 Nebraska NE-OS-15-05 Alaska 17-026 Nevada TN000032021-1 Arizona AZ0612 New Hampshire 2975 Arkansas 88-0469 New Jersey–NELAP TN002 California 2932 New Mexico ¹TN00003 Colorado TN00003 New York 11742 Connecticut PH-0197 North Carolina Env375 Florida E87487 North Carolina ¹DW21704 Georgia NELAP North Carolina ³41 Georgia ¹923 North Dakota R-140 Idaho TN00003 Ohio–VAP CL0069 Illinois 200008 Oklahoma 9915 Indiana C-TN-01 Oregon TN200002 Iowa 364 Pennsylvania 68-02979 Kansas E-10277 Rhode Island LAO00356 Kentucky ¹ ⁶KY90010 South Carolina 84004002 Kentucky ²16 South Dakota n/a Louisiana AI30792 Tennessee ¹ ⁴2006 Louisiana LA018 Texas T104704245-20-18 Maine TN00003 Texas ⁵LAB0152 Maryland 324 Utah TN000032021-11 Massachusetts M-TN003 Vermont VT2006 Michigan 9958 Virginia 110033 Minnesota 047-999-395 Washington C847 Mississippi TN00003 West Virginia 233 Missouri 340 Wisconsin 998093910 Montana CERT0086 Wyoming A2LA A2LA – ISO 17025 1461.01 AIHA-LAP,LLC EMLAP 100789 A2LA – ISO 17025 ⁵1461.02 DOD 1461.01 Canada 1461.01 USDA P330-15-00234 EPA–Crypto TN00003 ACCREDITATIONS & LOCATIONS ¹ Drinking Water ² Underground Storage Tanks ³ Aquatic Toxicity ⁴ Chemical/Microbiological ⁵ Mold ⁶ Wastewater n/a Accreditation not applicable * Not all certifications held by the laboratory are applicable to the results reported in the attached report. * Accreditation is only applicable to the test methods specified on each scope of accreditation held by Pace Analytical. 1 Cp 2 Tc 3 Ss 4 Cn 5 Sr 6 Qc 7 Gl 8 Al 9 Sc ACCOUNT:PROJECT:SDG:DATE/TIME:PAGE: Arcadis - Chevron - UT 30064298 07.21 L1756101 07/23/24 11:49 17 of 19 ACCOUNT:PROJECT:SDG:DATE/TIME:PAGE: Arcadis - Chevron - UT 30064298 07.21 L1756101 07/23/24 13:42 17 of 19
