Director August 20, 2024 Max Covey Jordanelle SSD PO BOX 519 10500 N 14200 W Heber City, UT 84032 Subject: Notice of Increased Monitoring and Confirmation Sampling Requirements for Jordanelle SSD; UTAH26086 Max Covey: According to the Division of Drinking Water’s (the Division) records, thallium was recently detected in the water leaving the Keetley WTP (TP003) at 0.0036 mg/L. The maximum contaminant level for thallium is 0.002mg/L. Pursuant to R309-205-5, the Keetley WTP (TP003) is now subject to confirmation sampling and increased monitoring requirements. Please collect a thallium sample from the Keetley WTP (TP003) as soon as possible and submit the results to the Division. Additionally, the Keetley WTP (TP003) is now required to be sampled each quarter for thallium. Compliance with the thallium standard will be based on the running annual average (RAA). If the RAA for thallium is greater than 0.002 mg/L after one year of quarterly sampling, the system will be considered in violation of the thallium standard and public notice will be required. The current monitoring requirements for the Keetley WTP (TP003) are given below. An updated monitoring schedule can be viewed anytime online at waterlink.utah.gov.
