Hi Guy,
I just finished reviewing the Draft Letter Mod to the RA Work Plan and the BWO RA Response.
The Draft Letter mod to the RA Work Plan is sufficient. Please submit the letter formally.
After review of the draft BWO RA Response, the response to comments appears to be sufficient with the exception to
Comment 2a pertaining to the one-way ANOVA Comparison and Table 2-21.
In order for a One-way ANOVA comparison to be performed; 1) there must be independent samples between groups; 2)
the different groups/levels must have equal sample sizes; and 3) an ANOVA can only be conducted if the dependent
variable is normally distributed so that the middle scores are the most frequent and the extreme scores are the least
frequent. After review of Table 2-21; 1) the plume and lab data cannot also be in the Grand Statistics (all data) Group; 2)
the groups do not have equal sample sizes with the plume consisting of eight samples and the Lab with 13 samples; and
3) there is no evidence of a test of normality to ensure ANOVA is the appropriate means to compare the lab and plume.
Based on these observations a non-parametric, two sample comparison may be more appropriate to evaluate whether the
lab and plume data is comparable.

Once the above comment is addressed, please formally submit the revised BWO RA Response.

naphthalene isoconcentrations maps; and Table 2-21 that shows the classical one-way ANOVA
comparison of the COPC concentrations in the center of plume and lab wells. Let us know if you
