Yes SUMMARY: This was a routine site visit by the DERR to check on the status of the cleanup and construction happening at the Site. The asphalt pad has been removed and work was underway to dig up the underlying soil. The operator excavating the soil confirmed that the soil was not being moved but instead stockpiled in place until sampling can confirm that the material is clean and can be moved to the west adjoining property. At the time of the visit, not all of the soil had been excavated yet. Due to the removal of the asphalt pad, the entrance to the Site was moved slightly to the east. Stormwater control measures were in place such as an adequate vehicle track-out leaving the Site and a water truck actively spraying down the soil. The VIMS installation is complete at the Pavilion and crews were actively putting up the frame of the building. This is the only building at the Site currently. To the south-east, crews were digging trenches along the boarder of the Site for utilities. Most of the Site is graded and at the appropriate elevation, with some areas still needing to be addressed. For the north-east corner adjacent to the Alvie Carter Trust property, more fill material is needed to reach the final Site grade; however, the fill already in place is at least a few feet above the adjoining property. A final grade at an elevation above adjoining properties will help prevent impacts to the Site via stormwater runoff, debris, and sediment migration. PHOTO LOG: Photo 1: Track-out leaving the Site.
