Subject: Approval to Use the Various Water Features at the Tooele Air Center
Dear Mr. Owen:
The Division of Water Quality (DWQ) conducted a final inspection on August 16, 2024 of the various water features at the Tooele Air Center. This included the following:
Double lined evaporation pond;
Trench drain and piping to convey the wash water and contact storm water to the pond;
Various storm water swales and culverts for infiltration and convey storm water to the northwest corner where it will follow the existing runoff pattern towards the low spot/wetland
north of the site;
Secondary tank containment area (self-contained) with a sump located at the low point.
On July 25, 2024, Sam Shaw of Paulsen Construction provided DWQ with various construction reports and an Installation Report from Colorado Lining International concerning the lining
of the evaporation pond. On August 13, 2024, Mr. Shaw provided DWQ with a copy of the Colorado Lining International Installation Warranty.
Based on the final inspection and the review of the various construction reports, DWQ approves the use of the various water features at the Tooele Air Center.
