Hi Jan,
I'm reviewing the updated drinking water source protection plan for the Travel Center Well (WS002), received on December 23, 2022. I just have a few questions:
1. In section 4 of your update, you state that the RV Park septic is considered adequately controlled. The Division does not typically allow any septic systems to be
considered as a controlled potential contamination source (PCS) since they are active polluters by design. Did you happen to send public education material to the RV
Park, specifically factsheets on best management practices for septic?
2. You state and show that you distributed public education material to residences in the protection zones, which is great. However, do you happen to post any public
education material in the bathrooms at your business? Flyers requesting customers and staff avoid disposing of medication, diapers, baby wipes, grease, drain cleaners,
or highly concentrated solvents into the septic system should be posted. These items and chemicals could not only affect the reliability of the septic system but could also
introduce unwanted chemicals into the groundwater.
Please let me know.
Thanks

Hello,
I did send the RV Park information on best practices. At the time they built I had discussions about our drinking water protection zones. We sold the property to the RV Park
on the condition they followed all guidelines by the health department and any other appropriate entities to ensure our drinking water zone was protected.
I do not have chemicals for cleaning available. we mostly use a vinegar mixture for cleaning, dish soap and sanitizers. we use Hot water down the drains nightly. I have
garbage cans next to every toilet in both men and women bathrooms for all sanitary, diapers, wipes etc. we do not dispose of grease down the drains.
I hope this explanation has helped you to clear up any questions you have had.
Jan
