On August 7, 2024 Clear Sky Bryce Canyon will open to the public serving 25 of the planned 90 domes, employee housing, and the 75-seat restaurant. The water source for the water system is provide through a consecutive connection from the Cannonville Town Water System #09003. Pressure testing at the service connection provides water to the system at a static pressure of 69 psi at the delivery point. This distribution system has two distinct pressure zones. These zones are designated as zone 1 and zone 2 on sheet C-119. The 25 domes, employee housing, and the 75-seat restaurant are all located in zone 1. Zone 2 will require the installation of the approved Booster Stations (Booster Station 1 (PF001) and Booster Station 2 (PF002) and the Goulds 119-gallon hydropneumatics tank (HD001 and HD002). The Booster Stations and hydropneumatics tank are not included in Phase 1. The distribution system consists of 9500 linear feet of 4-inch diameter PVC C900 pipe and 1500 linear feet of ¾ service lines to the domes. The water main alignment was modified from the plan approval along the alignment shown on C-119. Megalug restrained joints were utilized for the thrust restraining system. Minimum soil cover of 3 feet was maintained along the entire length of the water main distribution system. The watermain was disinfected with the continuous feed method utilizing calcium hypochlorite granules placed at 200-foot intervals with a 24-hour holding time prior to flushing. Two consecutive bacteriological samples were collected more than 16 hours apart on July 5, 2024 and July 18, 2024 and analyzed by Southern Utah University Water Laboratory. Both samples were absent from total coliform. Page 2 of 2 Clear Sky Bryce Canyon – PWS Distribution System State of Utah Department of Environmental Quality Division of Drinking Water Water main pressure testing of the water main extension was completed on May 12-13, 2024 by E&L Design Build at 200 psi by isolating sections using the installed isolation valves. No leakage was detected. The water main construction included one underground water course crossing under the dry wash channel bisecting the property (Wildcat Wash). The underwater crossing was constructed using megalug restrained joints and isolation valves and sample taps have been provided on both sides of the water crossing at a locations not subject to high ground water or flooding. I, William Anderson, PE, certify that the Water distribution system for Phase 1 of the Clear Sky Bryce Canyon System been installed per the approved plans, with modifications as noted here in. 7/30/2024 Attachments: As-built plans As-built report Observation photos Evidence of water pressure testing Water Test Lab Results Checklist cc: Marlene Sadaj, PE, marlene@seakmt.com Robert Beers, Division of Water Quality, rbeers@utah.gov Utah Division of Drinking Water ― Checklist for Issuing Operating Permits Water System Name: System Number: Project Description: File Number: Items 1 through 8 below must be submitted to the Division and found to be acceptable prior to operating permit issuance (unless a water line project meets the requirements of R309-500-7 and is not required to obtain an Operating Permit). Distribution lines (not including in-line booster pump stations) requiring Plan Approval may be placed into service prior to submitting all of the following items and receipt of Operating Permit if the water system has received items 1 and 4 below. ☐ 1. Certification of Rule Conformance by a professional engineer (P.E.) that all conditions of Plan Approval were accomplished, and if applicable, changes made during construction were in conformance with rules R309-500 through 550 ☐ 2. As-built or record drawings incorporating all changes to approved plans and specifications (unless no changes were made to the previously approved plans during construction) ☐ 3. Confirmation that as-built or record drawings have been received by the water system ☐ 4. Satisfactory bacteriological samples as evidence of proper disinfection and flushing in accordance with the appropriate ANSI/AWWA standards: ☐ ANSI/AWWA C651-14 AWWA Standard for Disinfecting Water Mains Two consecutive sample sets at least 16 hours apart, none positive (e.g., every 1,200 feet, end-of-line, each branch) ☐ ANSI/AWWA C652-11 AWWA Standard for Disinfection of Water-Storage Facilities One or more samples, none positive ☐ ANSI/AWWA C653-13 AWWA Standard for Disinfection of Water Treatment Plants Two consecutive samples per unit, none positive, no less than 30 minutes apart ☐ ANSI/AWWA C654-13 AWWA Standard for Disinfection of Wells Two consecutive samples, none positive, no less than 30 minutes apart ☐ 5. Water quality data, where appropriate [For example, include raw and finished water data that demonstrate satisfactory performance of the treatment facility; sample should be taken from a storage tank for residual volatile organic compounds after tank interior re-coating; etc.] ☐ 6. If applicable, all other documentation that may have been required during the plan review process ☐ 7. If applicable, confirmation that the water system owner has received the O&M manual for the new facility ☐ 8. If applicable, location data of new storage tank, treatment facility, or source
