39. Are there any visual indications of unsanitary conditions?
Rule: R309-200-6, R309-105-18, R309-215-4(3)R309-200-6 The Secondary Maximum Contaminant Levels for public water systems
deals with substances which affect the aesthetic quality of drinking water. They are
presented here as recommended limits or ranges and are not grounds for rejection. The
taste of water may be unpleasant and the usefulness of the water may be impaired if
these standards are significantly exceeded.
R309-105-18 The Director or the local health department shall be informed by
telephone by a water supplier of any "emergency situation". The term "emergency
situation...
R309-215-4(3) If the water fails to meet minimum standards, then certain public
notification procedures shall be carried out, as outlined in R309-220. Water suppliers
shall also keep analytical records in their possession, for a required length of time, as
outlined in R309-105-17.
Notes:The area where the water softener and piping were used for storage presents a risk of cross-
contamination, especially when storing items like potting soil that is typically made from
perlite, animal dung, and other organic compounds that can contaminate drinking water.

Notes:The cap on the well casing is cracked in two pieces, likely due to the road salt used in the
parking lot leading to corrosion. Additionally, the electrical supply for the well pump goes
over the top of the well casing and prevents the well cap from sitting flush with the well
casing. This creates a pathway for contamination and potential "critters" breaching the well.

Notes:We had to cut the locks to access the well. However, the operator sent me photos of the new
locks added before I did this write-up. Please create this deficiency and then show the
resolved date as the same as the identified date (August 6, 2024)
