Isolation valves and air relief valves were installed at the stationing shown on C-117 and C-118. A 4’’ water meter was installed by the Town of Cannonville at the end of the water main extension at STA 8+000. A flushing valve for sampling has also been provided. The water main alignment was modified from the plan approval along the alignment shown on C-117 and C-118 with the approval of the Town of Cannonville Water System and the private landowners. Megalug restrained joints were utilized for the thrust restraining system per the Cannonville Town Water System standard specifications. Minimum soil cover of 4 feet was maintained along the entire length of the water main extension. The watermain was disinfected with the continuous feed method utilizing calcium hypochlorite granules placed at 200-foot intervals with a 24-hour holding time prior to flushing. Two consecutive bacteriological samples were collected more than 16 hours apart on and analyzed by Southern Utah University Water Laboratory. Both samples were absent from total coliform. Pressure testing of the water main extension was conducted in January of 2024 by E&L Design Build at 200 psi by isolating sections using the installed isolation valves. No leakage was detected. The water main construction included one underground water course crossing under the Paria River Channel. The underwater crossing was constructed using megalug restrained joints. Isolation valves and sample taps have been provided on both sides of the water crossing at locations not subject to high ground water or flooding.
