Facility Identification No. 4002568, Release Site NUY
Dear Mr. Truong:
The file for this August 2019 release has been reviewed by the Division of Environmental
Response and Remediation (DERR) project manager who has recommended that no corrective
action be taken at this time. This no further action applies only to the specific Release Site NUY.
This recommendation is based on the information contained in the file for this release. That
information was supplied by you, your consultant, or another representative.
The information submitted indicates that any detectable petroleum contamination from this
release is not a threat to human health or the environment according to Utah Admin. Code rule
R311-211. This evaluation is based on current land usage, exposure pathways, potential receptors
and other site-specific risk characteristics. In the future, if changes to these characteristics create a
threat to human health or the environment, additional corrective action may be required.
If you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Eileen Brennan, the DERR
project manager, at (801) 536-4100.
Sincerely,
Brent H. Everett, Director

A release was reported in August 2019 when the first set of three non-notifier UPSTs were discovered
during excavation work for site redevelopment. A second set of three non-notifiers were subsequently
encountered beneath the demolished office building. A small amount of soil was removed; a large
volume of water was pumped from the excavations and used for dust suppression at the site, as
approved by DEQ/DWQ.
