Facility 1200131, Release Site OKF 150 South Morgan Valley Drive Morgan, Utah 84050 Dear Mr. Mecham: Westech prepared this report to document results of abatement activities conducted at the referenced site. Abatement activities were undertaken to remove impacted soil and prevent migration of petroleum hydrocarbons. The activities involved removing and disposing of impacted soil and collecting confirmatory soil samples. The Mecham Brothers, Inc. site contains two above ground storage tanks (ASTs) that formerly supplied two ground-mounted dispensers. Locations of the ASTs and site features are shown in Figure 1, locations of the former dispensers are shown on Figure 2. The dispensers were permanently closed on January 22, 2024. Results of closure sampling indicated that soil beneath the dispensers was impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons in excess of initial screening levels (ISLs). Locations of the closure samples are shown on Figure 3 and results of the closure sampling are summarized in Table 1. Excavation began below the former dispensers and continued outward and downward until field screening indicated that the extent of impacted soil had been reached. Approximately 63 cubic yards of soil were removed, including overburden and soil removed for access. The soil was transported to ET Technologies soils regeneration facility in Salt Lake City for disposal. Soils encountered in the excavation were clayey silt from near surface to approximately 8.5 feet, then well graded sand extending to the depths excavated. A log of the soils encountered is attached. No groundwater was encountered during the abatement activities. Confirmatory soil samples were collected from the side walls and excavation bottom, locations of the samples are shown on Figure 3. The samples were placed into an iced cooler and delivered under chain -of- custody to the analytical laboratory. The samples were analyzed for methyl tert -butyl ether (MTBE), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes, naphthalene (MBTEXN), and gasoline-range total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH GRO) using method 8260, and diesel-range total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH DRO) using method 8015. Copies of the laboratory analytical report and chain -of-custody documentation are attached. Analytical results are summarized in Table 1. WESTECH ENVIRONMENTAL 2 The analytical results indicate that none of the confirmatory soil samples contained detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons. These results confirm the abatement activities successfully removed impacted soil due to this release. Based on these results Westech recommends that no further action be required at this site.
