HomeMy WebLinkAboutDERR-2024-008105Accomplishments  In June 2008, UDEQ conducted site assessment work and confirmed the presence of petroleum contamination in the soils and groundwater.  Underground storage tank and petroleum contaminated soil were removed from the site in September 2008.  UDEQ conducted additional assessment work to determine petroleum contaminant levels after tank and contamination removal.  Extent of contamination delineated.  Corrective Action Plan (cleanup) in place to remove more contaminated soil, with a groundwater monitoring program underway.  Ogden City planning to revitalize the site and develop it into a condominium complex. It was unknown if the underground storage tank(s) containing petroleum had been removed. The site was an underutilized, abandoned lot and a neighborhood eyesore for almost 20 years. Perceived contamination had prevented redevelopment of the site. UDEQ partnered with EPA and Ogden City to move the site toward a beneficial re-use. Delete box, or place a tag line or quote here.
