MEMORANDUM

From: Matt Hartvigsen, PE

Date: June 14, 2024
Subject: Morgan City Water System (UTAH15008)
Thank you for providing a sanitary survey of the Morgan City Water System. We wish to correct some
items noted on the deficiency report as follows:
System Sources Lack Capacity
We assume that the surveyor did not have correct source production information. Below is an excerpt
from the city’s 2022 Culinary Water Capital Facilities Plan and Impact Fee Facilities Plan:
We request that the IPS points be removed for the lack of source capacity. As shown, the production
rate of the city’s water sources is approximately double the current demand. If you need further
documentation, please let us know.

Robinson Tank Overflow
The Robinson Tank has been fitted with an air gap on the overflow discharge line. See the following
image.
There is also a correction requested for the overflow on the North
Morgan Water Tank. The Robinson Tank and the North Morgan
Tank share the same overflow discharge line. The North Morgan
Water Tank is hydraulically connected to the Robinson Tank. They
are connected through an isolated connection line. The one tank
directly connects to the other and then they discharge through the
shared overflow pipe.
We request that the IPS points be removed for the air-gap
clearance on the overflow discharge lines for both the Robinson
Tank and the North Morgan Tank.
North Morgan Tank Overflow
Thank you for taking time to review the above deficiency corrections listed on the Improvement Priority
System (IPS) report. Please let us know if you have any questions.
