Hercules is proposing to conduct explosive and ignition testing in Pit 38, and work on incineration technologies for the destruction of explosive materials produced by companies other than Hercules. The testing is intended to be confined products with all residue being collected and taken to the Burn Grounds for final disposal. These test are being done to fulfill the new DOT regulations concerning waste and product packaging. The conclusion of the meeting was that Hercules could accept products for testing and that residues generated by testing could be disposed of at the Burn Grounds. Hercules intends to confine its testing to products only and classification information necessary for disposal of hazardous waste, originating from off- spec products, will be extrapolated from the product testing. Hercules is going to document the conclusions of the meeting in a letter, the Executive Secretary will confirm whether the letter adequately represents the position identified during the meeting and document in writing the conclusion.
