Richard Anderson, Manager Environmental Planning and Operations Hercules Bacchus Works Magna, Utah 84044-0098 Dear Mr. Anderson: This letter is in response to your September 6, 1990, letter conceming a modification to the groundwater sampling protocols for wells GW-20, 21, 24, 27, 30, 31, 34, 36, and 55. Your request for a modification is granted. This modification will allow the above mentioned nine wells to be sampled and analyzed for volatile organics and field measurements of pH, electrical conductivity and temperature. The reason for this modification is because the groundwater levels in these wells have significantly dropped in the last few years and they are slow to recharge. Also, the contamination identified in these wells, historically, has been volatile organics. This modification will remain in affect for one year unless the groundwater level in these wells increases to allow a sufficient volume of water to collect all the required parameters. Please be advised that replacement wells could be required for some of the wells if they carmot produce enough groundwater to collect a sample. If you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Don Verbica at 538-6170. Sincerely, <—<.y^ Dennis R.
