Box 16690 288 North 1460 West Salt Lake City, Utah 84116-0690 Re: Class 1.3 Prebatch Propellant Dear Mr. Downs: g-rs5r,-k , ^.-.y' ll! : VViH • i"..r ' Hercules presently has approximately 113,000 pounds of waste Class 1.3 prebatch propellant stored in Building 2495 at the Bacchus Works. This waste was generated as a result of a unique production problem, and we do not anticipate generating this volume of waste in the future. This material was received into storage starting on April 17, 1990. We will exceed our 90 day storage limit on July 16, 1990. This waste is being treated at our Buming Ground along with routine production wastes. Based on our 2,000 pound daily limit, and our existing waste generate rate, we anticipate completing treatment of this material in January 1991. As permitted in 40 CFR 261, Hercules requests a Temporary Emergency Permit to store this waste at Building 2495 until treatment of the waste is completed. If you have questions on this matter, call George Gooch at 251-2166. Sincerely, E. Richard Anderson, Manager Environmental Planning and Operations ERA/GEGooch/alc/7174s •Attachmonb cc: C. R.
