Borescope Investigation Report, Downgradient Private Well Sampling.
Dear Mr. Anderson:
ATK Launch Systems, Inc. (ATK) received a request in a January 20, 2017 letter from
your office to check the ownership of a private well that is downgradient of well H-4. It
also included a request to determine if we can gain access to the well and obtain a
sample. ATK has contacted the owner, a Mrs. Larsen, and she has given ATK
permission to access and sample the well. The well is no longer used as ATK supplies
her home and property with good quality potable water from the ATK water line that
goes by her land. Apparently, the water right associated with the well was abandoned
when the water connection was made. This is likely the reason why we cannot find the
well listed on the Utah Water Rights web page. The well is still functional and will be
included in the spring 2017 ATK Promontory groundwater monitoring list. ATK will
notify Jeff Vandel prior to sampling the well.
