Dear Mr. Gooch:

The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control has completed its review of the Sampling
and Analysis Plan for SWMU #553. This SWMU has been sampled in the past, but the extent of
contamination could not be determined based on the analytical results. The objective of the additional
sampling is to determine if concentrations of constituents of concern increase or decrease with depth and
distance from the source of contamination. The May 2016 SAP for SWMU #553 is hereby approved for
implementation.
