Re: ATK Launch Systems Inc., Promontory Facility; Emergency Permit Request for
Waste In Storage Longer Than One Year; EPA ID #UTD009081357 L-
Dear Mr. Anderson:
ATK Launch Systems, Inc. (ATK) is requesting an emergency permit to store waste longer than
one year. There are currently four 55 gallon containers that will be in storage at Building M-l 86
for one year on July 30, 2015. The drums contain ethyl acetate, and a trace amount of CL20.
The waste has been approved for disposal at the Clean Harbors facility in Colfax, Louisiana, but
the shipping approval has not been issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT). The DOT
approval request was submitted on March 10, 2015, and we anticipate receiving the approved
classification within 90 days. We request an Emergency Permit to store the waste for an
additional 90 days or until the DOT shipping approval is received.
