SUBJECT: Completion of The Site Management Plan For M-186 Ponds
In October 1995, Thiokol received approval from the Division of Solid and
Hazardous Waste for the Site Management Plan of the M-186 industrial waste
water ponds. The plan provided for closing the ponds in place under the risk
based closure rules found in R315-101. In accordance with the management plan,
the ponds were filled to grade with clean native soils during the last week of
October. Your office was notified of this schedule and Otis Wiloughby and Scott
Hopkins, from your staff, visited the site during these closure activities.
As specified in the Site Management Plan, no further action is planned at the site.
