Subject: ATK Launch Systems Promontory Facility, Request for a 60 day extension to Post Closure
Permit Condition on Placing a Deed Note for M-508 and M-636. EPA ID #UTD009081357
Dear Mr. Downs
The Post Closure Permit for the ATK Launch Systems Promontory facility requires under condition
III.A. 1 that within 60 days after the permit is issued, the Permittee shall submit to the Executive
Secretary and Box Elder County Recorder, or local zoning authority, a survey plat indicating the
lactation of Photographic Waste Discharge Sites M-508 and M-636 with respect to permanently
surveyed benchmarks. In addition, a record ofthe type and quantity of hazardous waste disposed of
within these units shall be attached to the survey plat.
The signature and approval process, while proceeding, is taking more time than anticipated.
Currently, the M-636 deed notice is waiting on signatures at the DSHW. The M-508 deed note is
awaiting signatures at the ATK Corporate Offices. In anticipation ofthe time for these documents to
move through these signature routes, ATK requests an additional 60 days for the completion ofthis
condition.
