hi the referenced letter above, dated July 25, 2003, the Utah Division of Solid and Hazardous
Waste requested ATK Thiokol Propulsion collect additional data ^"^ respond to comments to
facilitate and complete the closure ofHazardous Waste Management Units (HWMU) M-39
and M-636. In response to these requests, Thiokol has enclosed the reportSatnpltngand
Analvsis Plan to Evaluate Areas of Potential Soil Contamination at M-39 and M-636.
prepared by EarthFax Engineering, Inc., November 2003. We believe this document
addresses the requests and concerns of the Division for closure of these two sites. Upon
approval ofthis plan, weather permitting, Thiokol will begin field activities outlined m the
plan. A final report describing closure activities will be submitted to the Division within 90
days of completion of field activities.
