Subject; Waste Minimization Certification for Calendar Year 2005
Pursuant to paragraph n.M.4 of our Hazardous Waste Storage Pemiit, ATK Thiokol is
submitting this letter to certify that we have a Waste Minimization Program in place.
This program includes a quarterly reports sent to our corporate office to track our
progress, and regular meetings with operations to share ideas on how to reduce the
volume and toxicity of waste generated at ATK Thiokol, to a level determined to be
economically practicable. These efforts have been effective in the past, and we continue
to reduce waste generated whenever possible.
We believe our current method of operation minimizes the threat to human health and the
environment, from hazardous waste generated by ATK Thiokol.
I certify under penalty of law that this document and all attachments were prepared under
my direction or supervision in accordance with a system design to assure that qualified
personnel properly gather and evaluate the information submitted. Based on my inquiry
of the person or persons who manage the system, or those persons directly responsible for
gathering the information, the information submitted is, to the best of my knowledge and
belief, true, accurate and complete. I am aware that there are significant penalties for
submitting false information, including the possibility of fines and imprisonment of
knowing violations.
