Subject: ATK Launch Systems Promontory Facility, SWMU Assessment Reporting Schedule,
EPA ID #UTD009081357
Dear Mr. Downs
The Post Closure Permit for the ATK Launch Systems Promontory facility requires under condition
VI.B.3. that a schedule be provided to the Executive Secretary for submitting SWMU Assessment
reports listed in Attachment 6 that have not yet been investigated. Attached, please find the
Attachment 6 list with the proposed SWMU Assessment Report submittal schedule. Many ofthe
SWMUs in several ofthe categories have already been investigated and submitted to the DSHW in
the October 2000 RFI Phase 1 Report. These constitute the high priority SWMUs. The remaining
SWMUs will likely require little or no formal investigation but rather will consist of providing the
DSHW with justification for designafing the SWMUs as requiring "no further acdon". For
example, the 24 hazardous waste satellite accumulafion sites were designated as no further action in
the September 1990 DSHW RFA Report and ATK would submit a request that this designation be
made official.
Ifyou have questions regarding this schedule, please contact Paul Hancock at (435) 863-3344.
Sincerely,
David P. Gosen, P.E., Director
Environmental Services
