NOTICE
An emergency hazardous waste storage permit UT-12-98 was issued to the Thiokol Corporation
pursuant to R315-3-19 ofthe Utah Administrative Code. The permit provided Thiokol authorization
to store waste propellant at their Promontory facility from March 18, to March 19, 1998. Due to
unfavorable weather conditions the waste could not be treated on the 18th. Therefore, an Emergency
Permit to store the waste until conditions allowed treatment was required.
The permit was issued by the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Solid and
Hazardous Waste. Copies ofthe emergency permit are available for pubhc inspection during normal
business hours on the 4th floor ofthe Martha Hughes Cannon Health Building, 288 North 1460 West,
Salt Lake City, Utah. For further information contact Jeff Vandel (801) 538-9413, or Paul Hancock
ofthe Thiokol Corporation at (801) 863-4479. For those individuals needing special assistance in
