This is a hearing to receive pubUc comment on a request to renew the Thiokol Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) Permit for This permit was originally issued on June 15, 1994. Thiokol Corporation and again on June 17, 1996. Each renewal was for ofthis renewal nearing, Thiokol Corporation has the period of one year renewed the RD&D Permit on June 16, 1995, a period of one year. With the expiration date requested the RD&D permit be renewed for one more additional year. Thiokol Corporation conducted a public meeting on the renewal req This permit concerns the storage and treatment located in Box Elder County, Utah. Additionally, notice of this hearing was mailed to members cJf the public who in the past have indicated a desire to be notified of such activities and was broadcast on KSL radio on June 4, 1997. The public on May 14, 1997 and wiU conclude on June 16, ind are available for examination and public review at: the office of the Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste, 288 North 1460 West, Salt Lake City, Utah; and the Brigham City Library, 26 East Forest Street, Brigham City, Utah. Opportunity wiU be provided to any person desiring to participate in this hearing. Written comments concerning the renewal request to the Thiokol RD&D Permit will be received, and accepted for the record, no later than 5:00 P.M., June 16, 1997.
