The following table lists the laboratory analytical history for the well since 1989. DATE March 1989 September 1992 October 1992 December 1993 February 1996 May 1996 TCE LEVEL (ng/L) ND 0.85 ND 1.2 1.9 2.8 LABORATORY State ofUtah, SLC Thiokol S&E Lab Ford Analytical, SLC State ofUtah, SLC State ofUtah, SLC State ofUtah, SLC Mr. John Holladay, a member ofthe Thiokol Environmental Services staff, spoke with Brad Maulding and Otis Willoughby on 10 July 1996 conceming this contamination. Two major concems were discussed, 1) whether reporting requirements are applicable ifthe process water is spilled, and 2) if Thiokol may continue to use the water for process and fire fighting purposes. D. R. Downs 14 August 1996 Page 2 Brad Maulding expressed the opinion that reporting is not necessary at the low levels present in the process well. He also indicated that these low levels did not appear to be a threat to human health or the environment, and Thiokol may continue to use the well for firefighting and nonculinary processes. Thiokol plans to continue periodic sampling ofthe well and will continue to keep your staff informed if conditions in the well significantly change.
