SUBJECT: Partial Closure of M-13 6 Burn Ground
Enclosed is a brief report with supporting documents detailing
the procedures and results of closure activities at the M-136
Burn Ground. These closure activities are in accordance with
Partial Closure Plan, M-13 6 Burn Ground, approved by the Utah
Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste on 24 June 1994. Also
enclosed is an independent registered engineer's certification
as required by 40 CFR 265.115 and R315-7-14.
The results of this investigation show no statistically
significant concentrations when compared to background for all
contaminants excepting arsenic and HMX. However, the
concentrations of arsenic and HMX are well below accepted
risk-based criteria which require action. Thiokol has closed
this site in accordance with the approved closure plan, and
without additional closure or post-closure activities.
