Temporary Authorization Request
Dear Mr. Thompson:
On February 15, 1995, the Division received a request from Thiokol for a Class 2 permit
modification (MOD95-00740). Accompanying this modification was a request for Temporary
Authorization (MOD95-00764) to implement the changes outlined in the modification.
These modifications to the permit will allow waste to reside in the Hydrolysis Tank for 21 days
within Building T-93, and for seven days on the Hydrolysis Pad. The Division has reviewed
the Temporary Authorization request and agrees with Thiokol that implementation of these
changes would provided increased protection of human health and the environment as specified
in 40 CFR 270.42(e)(3)(ii)(E).
During the time that this Temporary Authorization is in effect, the procedures goveming the
Class 2 permit modification will continue. This Temporary Authorzation will expire on August
22, 1995.
