Box 2763 Hildale, Utah 84784 Re:Additional Sampling Requirements The Border Store, located at 625 North State Street, Hildale, Utah Facility Identification No. 6001029, Release Site OIM Dear Mr. Dockstader: On May 8, 2024 the Division of Environmental Response and Remediation (DERR) received an Emergency Response and Remediation Report for the above-referenced site. After reviewing this information, the DERR project manager has recommended further investigation to determine the full extent of subsurface contamination. During emergency abatement activities on October 11, 2023, soil samples were obtained indicating TPH-DRO concentrations above State- established applicable standards. The Division Director requires that additional samples be collected to determine the full extent and degree of petroleum-contaminated soils. All environmental samples must be collected by a Utah certified groundwater and soil sampler following sampling protocol as outlined in Utah Admin. Code R311-205. The report associated with these requirements must be submitted to our office within 90 days from the receipt of this letter. Environmental samples must be analyzed for diesel using the methods indicated in the enclosed Table of Analytical Methods for Sampling.
