RE: Under ground storage tank at Sorenco
Dear Mr. Downs
After considerable investigation and conversations with our local fire
Department, we have decided to maintain our under ground storage tank. !n
the past we have used this tank for storage of Hazardous waste. We wish
to change this procedure, instead of using the tank for storage of waste,
we would like to store the waste in approved 55 gallon drums. This wil!
enable us to maintain the 2;000 gallon storage tank for spillage and
emergency overflow situations.
I am enclosing a bid and brochure from Nationa! builders on the type of
monitoring system we would like to install on the 2,000 gallon storage
tank. As I have indicated the tank will be kept empty. lf this system
meets with your approval please let me know so we can start before the
winter sets in.
lf there are any questions please call me at (801) 481 -7325
Sincerely
SORET\rc

System components: 1 year - parts only. Subject to terms and cor:ditions detailed
in "Soii Sentry Twelve-X Warranty"
SysteLC-:gtsqls: Dimensions: 17"W X 20"H X Weight: ?2 lbs. (10 kg)
Pon'er Requirement[: L17 VAC, 60 Hz 56 VA outlet for use vrith power cord. Flard-rvire
connection to a junction box and dedicatcd circuit is rec<lmmended.
Safety Approval: Undenvriters Iaboratories (IJL) listing approval pending
Sensor: Metal Oxide Semiconductor
Range: 50-10,000 parts-per-million (PPM) total organic hyclrocarbon vapors
SeupfPlaqqmgg!: One sensor, located in the system console.
Sigpling Poiqts: Console acconrnrodates L to 12 vapor nronitoring
llackgrou nd reference monitoring rvell which automatically compensates
in naturally-occurring hydrocarbon vapor conclitions on tlre site.

*'I'ank baclilill: Vertical vapor wells at tank eucls, rionnaliy trvo wells per tanli,
descencling a minimum of one foot belorv the bottom of the tank.
{'Piping: Shallow horizontal vapor rvells instailed beiou, product piping. (Maxirnunr
slotted well-pipe length of 30 feet).
*Product dispensers: Shallow vapor wells. (See piping, above).
xBackground reference: Vertical vapor well placed away from the tanks in nttive soil
and bored to a minimum depth of 6 feet.
wells, plus one
for small change.s

*Site perimeter: Optional, deep vapor wells located away from tanks to detect the
intrusion of contaminants frorn neighboring property or to monitor the
migration of a vapor plume away from the site.
*Others as needed for site-specific conditions
Sampline Well Construction: Slotted, 2" I.D. to 4" I.D. schedule 40 PVC is recommerrrJecj
(stainless steel well screen is optional), placed in a vapor well containing engineered backfill
such as pea-gravel. A covered well-head enclosure and a seal of concrete or bentonite-type
rnaterial is required at the top of each wel[.
Sampling Frequency i
Automatic mode: Twenty-minute vapor sampling cycle from each active sampling
point and the background reference well every 8 hours.
Manual nrodc: On clemand, as often as desired
Vapor Transport lvlechanism: Vapor samples are drawn from each sampling point and
routed to the sensor iuside the system console through vapor transport lines, constructed of
1,14" ID polyethylene tubing housed in protective PVC conduit.
Alarms:
*Audible and visual alarms with silence and clear capability.
*Visual alarms can be security protected with'an access code.
*Auto-call to remote computer via modem when alarm condition occurs (optional).
*User-selectable alarm settings frorn 50 PPM to 3500 PPM, variable by sampling
port.
*Alarms are triggei'ed when a threshold is exceeded on three successive samplings.
High concentrations of vapor trigger immediate alarm.
*Relay contacts provided for external remote alarm
Self-diagnostics: Continuous electronic check of circuitry. Checks integrity of systenr
components, including sensor, pump, air paths, and PC board; system is verified before each
sampling cycle and on-demand. Diagnostic error message indicates source of fault.
*Front panei liquid crystal display $-CD) provides details of system status, system
failures, and vapor alarms.
*All sampling, alarm and significant event data are stored in memory for later access.
