RE: Underground Storage Tank at SORENCO
Dear Mr. Uribe:
The Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste received your letter dated September 25, 1991
indicating your decision to maintain a 2000 gallon underground tank for facility spillage and
emergency overflow situations. If the tank system operates as explained in your letter by
utilizing your underground tank system for spill and emergency upset situations, then your tank
system will be exempt from secondary containment and leak detection requirements of R450-7-
17.
However, due to past practices, documentation that demonstrates no release has occurred from
operation of this tank system is needed. An agreement needs to be reached between your
Company and the Division indicating how your Company proposes to demonstrate compliance
with tank closure requirements found in R450-7-17 since the tank operated in the past as a
RCRA regulated tank sytem
If there are any questions, please contract David McCleary of my staff (801) 538-6170.
Sincerely yours,
LU<-l.--<,t--
