Code SITE VISIT NARRATIVE The purpose of the June 07, 2018 site visit was to meet EPA's Region 8's legal counsel assigned to the Jensen property, Amelia Pickett and for Debra Ng, Hazardous Waste Section Manager, to visit to the property. It was also an opportunity to observe the progress made by the EPA On- Scene Coordinator Marty McComb's remediation team. The contaminated portions of the property has been defined as having three areas. Area I is the south area near Parkway Blvd. It extends to the gate and south fence line. Area2 is the area north of Area2 and is the area covered with gravel. It extends to the area to the north where spent blast media is visible on the surface. Area 3 is the north area which is north of Area 2 and extends to the north fence line of the property. The status of the three areas compared to the visit on the previous day (June 6,2018) is presented below. Area 1: No additional change documented in Area 1. The surface had had the spent blast grit removed with the exception of the roadway and the east edge of the area. This will be done after all other grit removal has been completed. Area2: The work occurring in Area 2 was associated with container management. Small containers had been placed in 55-gallon metal drums according to waste type. The 55-gallon drums had been overpacked in the salvage drums... Area 3: Area 3 was currently having the top six to eight inches of the upper soil profile removed. This is the depth of spent blast media contamination in this area. Progress had been made in Area 3 in that most of the surface had had the top layer of spent blast grit and soil removed. Trucks were actively shipping the contaminated soil to the Salt Lake County Landfill. The photos attached below document the progress made at the Jensen Property.
