Smith Manager, Environmental Programs Saint-Gobain Corporation 20 Moores Road Malvern, Pennsylvania 19355 RE: January 2018 Groundwater Monitoring Report Former Eastman Christensen Industrial Road Plant 1822 South Industrial Road Salt Lake City, Utah Dear Mr. Smith: This report pertains to the Former Eastman Christensen Industrial Road Plant (IRP or "the Site"), which is located at 1822 South Industrial Road in Salt Lake City, Utah. The report summarizes groundwater monitoring activities conducted on January 30, 2018 and presents statistical evidence to support a request to discontinue•groundwater monitoring at the Site. Groundwater monitoring activities were performed in accordance with a groundwater monitoring program outlined in the Site Management Plan (SMP; dated April 1, 2014) and a Utah Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (DWMRC) letter dated September 20, 2017. BACKGROUND Electro-plating operations that utilized hexavalent chromium (Cr+6) were historically conducted at the Site. Beginning in the early 1990s, environmental investigations identified Cr+6 impacts in soil and groundwater at the Site. During the 1990s, remediatioR activities (including source removal and groundwater extraction/ treatment) were employed to address the identified Cr+6 impacts. Following source removal activities that were conducted in 1998 and 1999, periodic monitoring has been conducted to assess residual Cr+6 impacts in groundwater. In 2014, the SMP was approved by the Utah Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste (a predecessor organization of DWMRC). In . accordance with the groundwater monitoring program described in the Resources Management 136 East South Temple Suite 2150 Salt Lake City, Utah 84111 (801) 204-4300 (801) 595-8484 (fax) www.erm.mm urv of Waste Managemer and Radiation Control JUN 1 5 2018 ERM
