(ERM) has conducted the 2018 annual site inspection of the former Bacchus Pond site in West Valley, Utah. The site inspection was conducted to document general site conditions and to ensure that the institutional controls required by the Site Management Plan (SMP) are maintained and functioning properly. The SMP for the site was approved by the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste on August 7, 2007. The following sections of this report document the site inspection activities and findings. Site Inspection The site inspection was conducted by ERM on May 18, 2018. During the inspection, ERM walked the entire property and visually inspected the perimeter fencing, access gates, and the former pond impoundment area. The storm water diversion structures on the adjacent Hexcel property (located at the south end of the property) were also inspected. The checklist completed at the time of the inspection is included as Attachment A. As indicated on the inspection checklist, the perimeter fencing was found to be intact and no signs of trespassing were observed. All access gates were observed to be locked during the site inspection. The site remains vacant and is not being used for any industrial or commercial activities. No indications of unauthorized activity were noted or observed. ERM inspected the storm water diversion structures on the adjacent Hexcel property. These structures consist of a berm and a series of catch-basins along the southern and western property boundaries, which are used to direct storm water flow from the Hexcel facility away from the Bacchus Pond area. All storm water diversion structures appeared to be in good condition and functioning properly. Surface water was not observed in the former pond area or other areas of the site. The former pond impoundment is intact and no signs of erosion or off-site discharges from the site were observed. Deed Notice A deed notice for the property was submitted, as required by the SMP, to the Salt Lake County Recorder's Office on September 17, 2007. ERM contacted the Salt Lake County Recorder's office on May 18, 2018 and confirmed with the recorder's office that the deed notice is still attached to the property. Conclusion On behalf of Hercules, ERM has completed the 2018 annual site inspection for the former Bacchus Pond site in West Valley, Utah. The site inspection has confirmed that the site is being managed in accordance with the SMP. No maintenance issues were identified. The site remains vacant and no industrial or commercial activities are being conducted on the property. ERM confirmed that the deed notice for the site is still attached to the property.
