CREDENTIALS
On April 23 the inspector met with and presented credentials to Tom Brady and a shop
mechanic (did not get his name).

The purpose of this Compliance Evaluation Inspection (CEI) was to evaluate the Facility's
waste management practices for compliance with applicable rules under R315 of the Utah
Administrative Code (the Rules) and the Utah Solid andHazardous Waste Act 19-6-101.
FACILITY DESCRIPTION AND WASTE MANAGBMENT OPERATIONS
The Park City Corporation (Park City Corp) maintenance shop is located midway up the
Park City ski resort mountain. The shop maintains and repairs the ski lifts, vehicles and
snow grooming cats, snow mobiles, and other various mechanical equipment items. The
main waste generated is used oil and antifreeze. Some of the used oil is used as fuel in
their shop heater. The shop heater has been out of service for about the last year.
The antifreeze and used oil is picked up by Emerald Services. In the past, they used to
use Thermal Fluids. There are two System One solvent parts washers with internal
filtering systems. Solvent 142 is added as needed. Only about 4 gallons (both washers
combined) of a waste oily sludge is generated each year. It is added to the used oil. The
solvent has a flash point of 142 degrees.
Other than universal wastes no other hazardous wastes are generated in the shop. The
universal wastes are being properly managed. Tom Brady indicated that he wanted to
have a meeting with management and decide whether they want to re-notify as VSQG, or
stay as SQG and just deal with the occasional episodic event through the new notification
process. Based on the inspection, the Park City Corp shop is very small quantity
generator.
During the inspection, there were a couple used oil containers that were not labeled as
used oil. Mr. Brady phoned the inspector the day after the inspection and indicated that
all used oil containers had been labeled and that all mechanics had been instructed to
keep them labeled at all times
No problems were noted.
